Umbra collects no personal data. Your game is yours alone.

Last updated 30 October 2026

In short: Umbra collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the game never connects to a server of ours. Your progress and settings stay on your iPhone.

What this policy covers

This policy covers Umbra, the game for iPhone, and this website. “We” and “us” mean Naser Harif, who makes Umbra.

What we collect

Nothing. Umbra collects no personal data, and no data about how you play. It has no servers or accounts of its own, and it contains no third-party code for advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking.

It doesn't ask for your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone, and it never tracks you across other companies' apps or websites. We don't sell, rent or share anything about you, because we don't have it.

What stays on your device

The game keeps a few things on your iPhone so it can remember them between launches:

  • your settings: the music and effects volumes, the soundtrack, vibration, steering, up and down, and how sharp your rivals are;
  • your progress: the wars you've won, the medals you've earned in each and your best times.

They never leave your device, except inside your own device backups. Deleting the game deletes them.

What Apple may share with us

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and statistics about how the game runs. Apple also tells developers how many people find, download and use their apps, in anonymous totals. None of this identifies you, and Apple's privacy policy covers it.

You can stop sharing at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, by turning off Share With App Developers.

You get Umbra from the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We see sales only as totals, such as how many copies sold in each country, never who bought the game or how they paid.

Third parties

We share no data with anyone, because we collect none. The game talks to no outside service. Apple runs the App Store you get it from, under its own privacy policy. There are no other third parties: no advertising networks, analytics services or third-party code.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep nothing, so there's nothing of yours on our side to delete. What the game keeps on your iPhone stays there until you delete the game. Reset progress, in the game's Settings, clears your wars, medals and best times sooner, and keeps your settings.

Your choices

  • Start over: Reset progress, in the game's Settings, clears your progress on this device.
  • Remove everything: deleting the game deletes everything it kept.
  • Stop sharing analytics: turn off Share With App Developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom, or California's privacy laws, give you rights over your personal data: to see it, correct it, delete it, or object to its use. We hold no personal data about you, so there's nothing for us to hand over, correct or delete, but you're welcome to ask us anything. For data Apple holds about you, use privacy.apple.com.

Children

Umbra collects no personal data from anyone, children included, and shows no ads. It's a game of space combat: ships fire on each other and burst apart, with no people shown and no blood.

Security

What the game keeps stays on your iPhone, protected by your device. This website is served over a secure connection and keeps nothing about you.

This website

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads no fonts, scripts or anything else from other sites. The service that hosts it may keep standard access logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for a short time to keep the site running and secure. We don't use them to identify you.

Changes to this policy

If Umbra ever handles any other data, such as progress in iCloud or Game Center, we'll update this policy and the game's privacy details on the App Store before that version is released, and ask for your permission in the game wherever it's needed. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
